The autumn school of The Finnish Doctoral Network for Music Research: event postponed - muto
Finnish Doctoral Network for Music Research
The Finnish Doctoral Network for Music Research is comprised of eight universities: Sibelius Academy, the University of Helsinki, the Universities of Eastern Finland, Jyväskylä, Oulu, Tampere and Turku, and Åbo Akademi.
The central operating principle of the network is upholding the preceding Doctoral Programme in Music Research (2012–2015), that is, supporting national multidisciplinary research on music and the surrounding cultural reality.
NOTE: This network does not award doctoral degrees. It exists to further collaboration in doctoral studies and supervision between music research units in Finnish universities. If you are interested in doctoral studies in Finland, kindly contact the professor(s) working in university department(s) that appear most suitable for your topic and approach. Also, there are no funded doctoral student positions available in the network itself: all doctoral students within the network are post-graduate students of the partner universities.
null The autumn school of The Finnish Doctoral Network for Music Research: event postponed
The decisions regarding this year's Autumn School of The Finnish Doctoral Network for Music Research applications have now been made, and all applicants have been informed of the decisions via e-mail. We thank all applicants for their interest!
Unfortunately, though, the event will have to be rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After careful consideration, the board has had to make the difficult decision of postponing the autumn school to February 2021. Since the situation is still looking unstable for next Autumn and since the health and safety of the participants are always our first priority, it is imperative that we avoid any unnecessary risks.
The new dates for the Autumn School are February 17–19, 2021, and the event will be taking place at Kallio-Kuninkala as usual. During next semester, the board will be following closely all guidelines by the Finnish authorities and universities. In case the pandemic situation is still looking grim at the end of December, other options such as arranging the Autumn School online will be considered. Further information on registration, guest lecturers, and other practicalities will be available next Autumn.
Should you have any questions regarding the Autumn School or the doctoral network, please do not hesitate to contact the network coordinator (firstname.lastname@example.org, tel. 0504779213).
